"Meet Me At The Crossroads" shares in the mission to develop mentoring programs for the underserved people in need using targeted demonstrative educational techniques. Meet Me At The Crossroad's mission is to develop a generation of mentally and spiritually strong young people who are living their lives with direction and purpose. Youth who are setting a new standard for living and positively impacting the future. The goal is to build from their strengths and assist them in redirecting and using their unique gifts/talents to build a bright future; to turn a destructive destiny into a divine destiny. It very important how a gift is nurtured or it will become distorted and misused. Every gift was given with a divine purpose in mind by the one who gave the gift. There is no way to separate God from your gift. Our worship is expressed by us returning the gift to God in right service; using it to bring glory and honor to the kingdom of God. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,..." So the problem is not that the knowledge is not here, it's that it is either unknown or it is rejected. Misuse of a thing can have destructive consequences. It's time for training, equipping, empowering, and launching God's mighty army into ordained purpose. Meet Me At The Crossroads training workshops/seminars is a place for young people to bring their gifts/talents and receive wisdom, instruction, direction, and purpose in how to use their gifts to propel them into their DIVINE DESTINIES.
It appears that the hearts/attitudes of many of our youth has become callous and they have given up on us, "the adults". Esoterically speaking, this is a chronic disease that is gripping our children and negatively impacting our communities. The communication has proven to be virtually non-existent and compassion has left the conversation. So much blaming and naming the symptoms without offering solutions. What is the cure? My organization "Meet Me At The Crossroads" seeks to answer this question and proposes to meet this challenge by passionately reaching out to youth with empathy and compassion; restoring hope where none or little existed, rebuilding and cultivating self esteem, and mending the lines of communication.
It's a heart issue and a hope issue, NOT a behavioral issue. My organization seek to attack the issue at the root and provide a healthy environment for a new seed of hope to spring up, regardless of the ground it originated. Meet Me At The Crossroads is a faith-based organization that believes that being connected to God brings hope, joy, peace, direction, and purpose.
Supporting evidence as to why I believe the condition of the youth qualifies as a chronic disease: Chronic - persisting for a long time/constantly recurring. This describes the cycle of miseducation and/or lack of proper nurturing. It also relates to the poor/broken communication between adult to child and peer to peer. In relating to a problem chronic means difficult to eradicate. Many have said the youth are a loss cause and the problem is too far gone to fix.
Disease - a disorder of structure, a particular quality, habit, or disposition regarded as adversely affecting a person or group of people. I believe this definition is self explanatory, the youth crisis effects us all now and in the future. The emotional and mental health of our young people has been damaged and it is effecting them individually and indirectly spilling over into society. It is our responsibility to intervene and provide a platform for change. The meetings and workshops will be a place of education, discussion, presentations, skits, role play, scripture, revelation, and prophetic impartations.
